Seriously?! Oh, the level of stupidity of human beings!!

So just today, I stumbled upon an article about Columbia Basin Pygmy Rabbits, a native to the Pacific Northwest that are tiny. And I mean TINY!!! They're less than a pound fully grown!! But they are very, very, VERY endangered. Thankfully, though, the Oregan Zoo was able to do some captive breeding recently, so if everything goes right, they'll be back... probably not in the wild, but at least they won't be extinct.

After reading the first article and seeing that they are so darned cute, I've decided to read a little more into these super cute bunnies, and guess what I found? Evidence of human stupidity!!! If you're interested, you can read the full article here, but I'll just quote a part for you so you know what I'm talking about.

This may be our best current example of a subspecies (“species”, by ESA definition) being stomped into extinction by Public Grazing. The last place where Columbia Basin Pygmy Rabbits were found was Sagebrush Flat, which was that last large hunk of deep-soiled sagebrush in Washington. When it became obvious that this was the last place this burrowing rabbit survived, the area was “managed” by the Washington Department of Natural Resources. I had worked for years trying to get the cows off, because the grazing clearly was at odds with the rabbits (trampling burrows and eating grasses and forbs necessary for reproduction)...

So the cowheads got together, formed a Coordinated Resource Management Committee and planned for more grazing. The WDFW bought the acreage from WDNR for a huge amount of money, then increased the grazing in a program that included bringing water to portions of the area that had been beyond the range of cattle earlier. New wells were drilled, new water distribution systems were installed, and the number of cattle was increased.

Ok, now these rabbits are super timid, and wouldn't go anywhere without cover, and guess what the stupid people do? Let the ugly cows graze the area into zlitch so that the endangered species can go extinct. Woo-freakin-hoo~~!! Good going stupid. I mean, where on earth are their brains? Did they grew on their butt, and they just pooped it out accidentally when going to the bathroom? This is ridiculous! I would have shot the stupid cows to get them out of the way for the cute bunnies. Who cares about the ugly cows when you've got these endangered bunnies trying just to survive? Argh!!

Honestly, if the livestock people thinks the cows are important, they should have brought them home and let them graze their house down or something. So just to remind how ugly cows are, here's a picture.
